oThe test had 2 parts: a) The main test b) Triangulating epicenters activity oThe main test was all open ended questions, no true/false or multiple choices. Most of the questions were one word answer, but some were on explanations. (ex. If you were outside during a volcano eruption, why would you avoid steams or rivers?) YES ON THE TEST THEY MISSPELLED STREAM. oAlso on the test there was one chart to fill out on types of volcanoes and their likely eruptions. oMost of the test was on plate tectonics.
Example Questions: 1) After (some) eruption many people complained about respiratory and eye irritation. What might be the cause of this? 2) Why does basaltic lava flow longer and faster than lava made up of andisite? 3) What are some problems caused by volcanic ash? SO Event-Dynamic Planet
As a group of four (not as a team of 2), use the suggested resources (see rules-Wikipedia is not a suggested resource) to define all the terms used on the competition rules page. List the words and the definitions (you can link pictures, diagrams, etc.) on the next page (Dynamic Planet-Defnitions). We have at least one copy of each of the resources except volcanoes and it should be here soon. Be selective about what you link to. Type information from the textbooks, cut and paste from online resouces if there is more informaiton than what you need.-Mrs. Lakocy
